Milwaukee Teeth Whitening Brightens Smiles

Older man with beautiful smile

A brighter smile can make you appear younger, friendlier, and more energetic in an instant. No wonder teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic treatment! Dr. Franzen can give you stunning results with our take-home teeth whitening system.

Why Do Teeth Discolor?

A variety of factors contribute to tooth color. Coffee, foods, tobacco, and routine wear and tear are common causes of extrinsic stains, which are stains that appear on the surface of the teeth. Likewise, medications, trauma, aging, and excessive fluoride can result in intrinsic stains, which are stains that form on the interior of the teeth.

In the past, it was believed that teeth whitening could only remove surface stains, but recent studies have found that prolonged take-home teeth whitening supervised by a dental professional is a safe and effective way to remove both types of stains.

What Is the Difference Between In-Office And Take-Home Teeth Whiteners?

In-office teeth whiteners use a high concentration of peroxide to achieve drastic results quickly. Take-home teeth whiteners, on the other hand, are designed to whiten the teeth gradually over a period of about two weeks. Both systems produce the same results, but take-home teeth whitening lasts longer, doesn't cause tooth sensitivity, and generally costs less than in-office whitening.

What Does Take-Home Teeth Whitening Involve?

Dr. Franzen will take impressions of your teeth to create custom mouth trays for you to use at home. Simply fill the trays with the professional teeth whitening solution we provide and wear them for about 20 minutes each day. You will begin to notice a difference immediately, but for optimal results, you should continue treatment until the solution is gone. You can keep the trays and use them for touch-ups in the future.

To experience the benefits of a bright, beautiful smile firsthand, call our dental office and schedule your teeth whitening appointment. Dr. Barry R. Franzen has been helping Milwaukee-area patients smile with confidence for over 25 years.
